This is my new site. I am using WordPress. The design is straight out of the box, default WordPress, and it willl change soon. Soon as I figure out the code, that is. It’s pretty in the meantime though…

Interesting. A search for “maps” on Google brings up MapQuest before Google’s own Google Maps. Their marketing department has to love that.
Watching a broadcast of Diana Krall performing at the Olympia Theatre in Paris. Ms. Krall is one sultry sexy lady… Yowza. I have to get some of her music.
Looks like the Brits will have to deal with draconian smoking laws soon, too.
The NYC Transit Workers Union may go on strike at 12:01 this evening. I sort of hope they do. If they strike, I can work from home, which means I’ll get a lot of stuff done. There are less distractions - or rather, more easily-managed distractions at home.
On productivity. I am in the middle of implementing, personally and professionally, David Allen’s Getting Things Done (GTD) system for productivity. I will write more about it when I get my other things done :) - but here’s a very nice summary. I had some revelation over the past few weeks, as my in-box grew to 1700 emails and I hadn’t started holiday shopping and a hundred other unresolved things kept coming up that I needed to get my self organized. Separately, I kept coming a cross this GTD business. When I managed a few minutes to read about GTD, I went out the next day, on Saturday, and bought the book.
My coworker turned me on to a great little application for keeping notes. It’s a very sophisticaed Notepad.exe called NoteIT. It has become my new favorite thing.

In researching Taoism lately, for information about philosophy and sex, I’ve learned some interesting ideas about diet and nutrition. For instance, for the body to digest proteins, like meat, the stomach has to produce acidic secretions. Conversely, to process starches, like bread & sugars, it uses an alkaline solution, which begins with saliva. So when you eat proteins and starches together, like a hamburger, the stomach has a real problem trying to digest this since the alkaline and acid solutions try to cancel each other out. Instead, the food starts to putrefy and ROT before the stomach has a chance to digest. This rotting mess then travels through the rest of the digestive system where the intestines are left to try to eek out whatever nutrients it can (from a glump of rotting food).
The 3 main groups of foods are proteins, starches and sugars, and they should be eaten alone. However, one can always eat vegetables, like greens, carrots & squash with proteins or starches.
In the last week, I’ve made an effort to not mix foods. I eat oatmeal or a bagel for breakfast (starch), vegetables or a salad with some protein (meat or tofu) for lunch & dinner. Already, I do not eat much sugar, and no soda.
So far, I feel healthy, but not much different than last week. I did notice that I am hungry more often. Like now…
I am going to continue segregate my food intake, while I research the idea further. I think it’s a good idea.
Microsoft has a cool new mapping site:
In NYC, it shows birds eye satellite or helicopter photos of every street. In the country, it shows some pretty nice looking maps, similar to Google’s maps.
How in the world is Saddam Hussein boycotting his own trial? I mean, isn’t Saddam a prisoner. I didn’t know it was even possible to boycott one’s own crime’s against humanity trial.
If you don’t go to your trial, do you have to accept the verdict?
